Brief Biog.

Fifi Smith is an artist born in Cavan and working in Co. Kildare, Ireland.  She creates kinetic  installations.

At the core of her work is an exploration of the liminal spaces in an individual's mind. These undefined transitions of human reactions can occur between areas such as waking and sleeping, individuality and conformity, or between thinking and feeling. In these tiny transitional areas, there are no certainties and, therefore, no absolutes. It is a wonderworld of quiet excitement for this artist.

In her work in the early '90s, she used bronze, steel and ceramic. Next, she found that mixed        media was the language she needed to explore her concepts By the early 21st century, large  scale kinetic installations had become her medium of choice, and still are.

The nature of all her work is that no piece is ever repeated or made into limited editions, so that each work has a unique contribution to form and aesthetics.
