Biography

Artist Statement

At the core of her work is the area of liminality in human experiences. Liminality between feeling and reason, between individuality and conformity, etc. These liminal states defy stasis and although this is inherently unsettling, it is full of possibilities.
Here there are no certainties, no consensus, no assent, and so, no absolutes. It is in the uncomfortable problematic area that her practice is centered.

Focusing on these subtle thresholds of human behavior allows her to interweave multiple levels of contemplation within the figuration and aesthetics of the work. Her objective is to forge a lively dialogue between the constructed nature of the object and the intellectual work of conceiving it. In this way, she uses the physical and the aesthetic to evoke the true geography of the everyday, instinctive and rational functions of the human being.

This statement is intended to be an indicator of her area of exploration only; it is not a definition of her work.
